Unbelief
Scripture warns us to "Take heed ... lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." Hebrews 3:12, 13.
"Our hearts lead us away from the living God when we stubbornly refuse to believe him. If we persist in our unbelief, God will eventually leave us alone in our sin." - Life Application Bible, p. 2160.
Jesus said: "When a defiling evil spirit is expelled from someone, it drifts along through the desert looking for an oasis, some unsuspecting soul it can bedevil. When it doesn't find anyone, it says, 'I'll go back to my old haunt.' On return it finds the person spotlessly clean, but vacant. It then runs out and rounds up seven other spirits more evil than itself and they all move in, whooping it up. That person ends up far worse off than if he'd never gotten cleaned up in the first place. That's what this generation is like. You may think you have cleaned out the junk from your lives and gotten ready for God, but you weren't hospitable to my kingdom message, and now all the devils are moving back in." Matthew 12:43-45. - This scripture was taken from THE MESSAGE - The Bible In Contemporary Language.
Christ was often met with unbelief during His earthly ministry, especially in His home town. "And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief" (Matthew 13:58). When the disciples asked Christ why they were not able to cast out a demon from a boy, Christ answered: "Because of your unbelief" (Matthew 17:20).
Unbelief is, and has always been the core sin of any and all ages (including this age and all which follow) having and producing an offspring atypical of itself. These offspring herein are identified.
Dis-Belief is when our spirits (heart of hearts) are not believed to be innately connected corporately to the Holy Spirit; therefore those who have such disbelief "feel" that they are at liberty to be and do anything and everything they have not considered before of their whole life as being adjoined to God forever.
Jesus said: "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man [woman] abide not in me, he [she] is cast forth as a branch and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (John 15:5, 6).
"Christ is the vine, and God is the husbandman who cares for the branches to make them fruitful. The branches are all who claim to be followers of Christ. The fruitful branches are true believers who by their living union with Christ produce much fruit. But those who become unproductive - those who turn back from following Christ after making a superficial commitment will be separated from the vine. Unproductive followers are as good as dead and will be cut off and cast aside. Abiding in Christ means (1) believing he is God's Son (1 John 4;15), (2) receiving him as Savior and Lord (John 1:12), (3) doing what God says (1 John 3:24), (4) continuing in faith (1 John 2:24), and (5) relating to the community of believers, Christ's body (John 15:12). - Life Application Bible, p. 1840.
Mis-Belief comes because we will or choose not to agree with God's Will. The wise man said: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Prov. 14;12).
"The 'way that seemeth right' may offer many options and require few sacrifices. Easy choices, however, should make us take a second look at the options. Is this solution attractive because it allows me to be lazy? Because it doesn't ask me to change my life-style? Because it requires no moral restraints? The right choice often requires hard work and self-sacrifice. Don't be enticed by apparent shortcuts that seem right, but end in death." - Life Application Bible, p. 1098.
David prayed: "Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness" (Psalm 43:10).
"David's prayer was for knowledge to do God's will, not his own. A prayer for guidance is self-centered if it doesn't recognize God's power to redirect our lives. Asking God to restructure our priorities awakens our minds and stirs our wills." - Life Application Bible, p. 1069.
Wrong-Belief is not allowing our minds to be in sync as it is In Christ Jesus.
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ" (1 Cor. 2:16).
"No one can comprehend God (Romans 11:34), but by his Spirit believers have insight into some of God's plans, thoughts, and actions. By his Holy Spirit we can begin to know his thoughts, discuss them with him, and expect his answers to our prayers. Are you spending enough time with Christ to have his very mind in you? An intimate relationship with Christ comes only from consistent time spent in his presence and in his Word." - Life Application Bible, p. 1999.
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 2:5).
False-Belief is that our body only belongs to ourselves, and not to be inhabited as God's Temple while here on earth.
"Beloved, now are we the sons [daughters] of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man [woman] that hath this hope in him purifieth himself [herself], even as he is pure" (1 John 3:2, 3).
"What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" (1 Cor. 6:19).
"What did Paul mean when he said that our bodies belong to God? Many people say they have the right to do whatever they want with their own bodies. Although they think this is freedom, they are really enslaved to their own desires. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit fills and lives in us. Therefore, we no longer own our bodies. We have been 'bought with a price' refers to slaves purchased at auction. Christ's death freed us from sin, but also obligates us to his service. If you live in a building owned by someone else, you don't violate the building rules. Because your body belongs to God, you must not violate his standards for living." - Life Application Bible, p. 2005.
Over-Belief is the temptable assumption that somehow we can pay God an unpayable debt for His Free Gift.
"And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost [Spirit] was given, he offered them money, saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the Gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me." (Acts 8:18-24).
" 'Everything has a price' seems to be true in our world of bribes, wealth and materialism. Simon thought he could buy the Holy Spirit's power, but Peter harshly rebuked him. The only way to receive God's power is to do as Peter told Simon - turn from sin, ask God for forgiveness, and be filled with his Spirit. No amount of money can buy salvation, forgiveness of sin, or God's power. These are only gained by repentance and belief in Christ as Savior." - Life Application Bible, p. 1891.
Foul-Belief is the stigmas associated with rapturing and future prophetic events.
The second coming (appearance) of Jesus is a personal experience for every one who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Jesus said: "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! Or, lo there! For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20, 21).
"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God" (Eph. 3:17-19).
This is fulfilling the Kingdom of God while we are here upon earth. Angels of God deliver our spiritually-matured souls to the Father's Heaven where Christ is sitting awaiting our delivery in a New Body of Light like His. Like begets like, and His and our recognition will be relatively similar. We will then be entered into the Kingdom of Heaven - eternally!
Jesus told His disciples: "There be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power" (Mark 9:1) meaning that their generation would not pass until all the signs recorded in Matthew 24 were fulfilled. The book of Revelation is written in spiritual symbolic and codified language which was totally fulfilled when Christ returned to this earth in AD 70 by bringing retribution and judgment to those who rejected Him. Christ [the Kingdom of God] also returned to that generation - and every generation since then - to make His home within the hearts and lives of those who accept His free gift of Salvation. Under-Belief is "whosoever" thinks or under-believes wrongly he/she has done too much wrong for God to give Himself for his/her salvation. But scripture says: "The Lord is ... not willing that any should perish [amount to nothing, or die the sin unto death (1 John 5:16) of the spirit], but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). God further assures us that "there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:12, 13).
"Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God" (1 John 4:15). "I [Jesus Christ] am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness" (John 12:46). "Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die" (John 11:26). "Jesus has power over life and death as well as power to forgive sins. This is because he is the Creator of life (see John 14:6). He who is life can surely restore life. Whoever believes in him has a spiritual life that death cannot touch or diminish in any way. When we realize his power and how wonderful his offer to us really is, how can we help but commit our lives to him! To those of us who believe, what wonderful assurance and certainty we have: 'Because I live, ye shall live also' (John 14:19)." - Life Application Bible, p. 1828.
In Conclusion
Laws can influence conduct, but they can never change the heart. By God's Grace there are seven crucibles (tests and trials) for impurities (dross from the seven offsprings) to be taken out to have pure gold; and as God's Child, one can be considered through Christ - as "more than pure gold." See Isaiah 13:12. Those who have come to believe, may still cry out "help Thou mine unbelief" (Mark 9:24), and through their tests and trials God helps them to lay aside unbelief's offspring as weight that so easily besets them [all of us that believe] as described in Hebrews 12:1-3. "Wherefore we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear [grave awesome respect]: for our God is a consuming fire" (Heb. 12:28). God's Word digested and His Spirit imbued, indued, and inbrued within consumes - like a fire - the sin that is throughout us.
