"Gentleness is not often a respected quality. Power and assertiveness gain more respect in our society, even though none of us likes to be bullied. Gentleness is love in action - being considerate, meeting the needs of others, allowing time for the other person to talk, and being willing to learn. It is an essential trait for both men and women. We all need to maintain a gentle attitude in our relationships with others." - Life Application Bible, p. 2110.
The Apostle Paul practiced this Godly trait as we read in 1 Thessalonians 2:7: "But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children." "David offers an interesting twist to the concept of greatness, saying that God’s gentleness has made him great [see Psalm 18:35]. Our society believes that greatness is attained through a combination of opportunity, talent, and aggressiveness. But true greatness comes from living according to God’s laws and standards and recognizing that all we have comes not from our own ability and effort, but from the gentleness of God’s mercy...." - Life Application Bible, p. 966.
"And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient." 2 Tim. 2:24.
"To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men." Tit. 3:2.
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." James 3:17.
