"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19.

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple." Psalms 19:7.

The law(s) of God point out what sin is, but keeping them does not save or convert anyone. Only the goodness of God's Grace (kindness) brings salvation and power to live in harmony with God's Will.

"Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee." Psalms 51:13.

"But I [Jesus] have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou [Peter] art converted, strengthen thy brethren." Luke 22:32.

"Satan wanted to crush Peter like a grain of wheat. He hoped to find only chaff and blow it away. But Jesus assured Peter that his faith, although it would falter, would not be destroyed. It would be renewed, and he would become a powerful leader." - Life Application Bible, p. 1779.

"Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." James 5:19, 20.

"James urges Christians to help backsliders return to God. By taking the initiative, praying for the person, and acting in love, we can meet the person where he [she] is and bring him [her] back to God. The book of James emphasizes faith in action. Right living is the evidence and result of faith....The body of believers ought to be an example of heaven on earth, drawing people to Christ through love for God and one another." - Life Application Bible, p. 2192.
